Lucinda Surber and Stan Ulrich
are long-time West Bay Opera volunteers. Their association
with West Bay Opera began with the performance of Il
Trovatore in February 1998, when Stan ran his
first supertitles, a job he has continued through the
current opera. Lucinda’s first job was projecting
the Ghost Words in The Turn of the Screw in
May 1998. In the October 1998 performance of The
Italian Girl in Algiers, Lucinda learned to run
the sound board, a job she has continued through the
current opera. In 2001, Lucinda also began taking performance
pictures, and ran the official West Bay Opera website
from 2001–2009.
When they aren’t volunteering
for West Bay Opera, Lucinda and Stan work on Stop,
You’re Killing Me! — an award-winning
web resource for lovers of mystery, crime, thriller,
spy, and suspense books. Lucinda also works on various
other websites: The
Crew View, Henry
and Maria Holt Memorial Scholarship, Bookworm
for Kids, Audubon
New Mexico, Barron
Park Elementary School, K-6
Science.
